How to Stop Worrying About What Other People Think of You
How can you stop worrying about what people think of you? It is a difficult question but the answer can truly set us all free. I think to some extent we have been conditioned to seek validation and approval for everything that we do. Our earliest experience of this would be from our parents, then our siblings/family members, teachers and of course our peers. Validation has become amplified now with the magnitude and impact of social media. Too many of us have become obsessed with likes, retweets and comments. Too many of us are "packaging" ourselves to become replicas of what we think society wants to see as opposed to what we can really show them - what we should really be showing them is who we really are.How many of us can honestly say that we are authentic and true to our calling? How many of us are able to navigate our business/professional/personal worlds with confidence knowing that we are giving the world our true selves and not a manufactured version of it. One could argue that perhaps it is safer to protect your true self from a world that can never truly accept us, however that is unsustainable. Everyone deserves to truly be themselves (as long as it brings no harm to others), authenticity far surpasses anything else.
