Why Successful Black Women Make Great Friends

I had a blast being interviewed for The Black Women Be Like Podcast by Andiswa Onke Maqutu, all the way in South Africa, I love the power of technology. In this episode Andiswa focused on Shine Theory - the idea that successful women make great friends and women should deliberately make these friendships particularly Black women. It's tough out there! We need to support each other. There has long been a false narrative that women do not support each other and I know from personal experience that the most supportive people in my business career have been Black women in particular.I break down the role that the media and self-confidence plays in creating tension between women and we explored relationships between successful women like Beyonce and Kelly Rowland; Serena and Venus Williams (obviously being sisters helps) and Taraji P Henson, Viola Davis and Regina King.
